Lil P...Girl got Game

The early morning dedication and athletic spirit defines lil P. Her dad is a hugggge soccer fan and quite a talented player himself, along with the other Turner siblings. Is it hereditary?? I never questioned it when they were babies. Come on, dad lives and breathes it? no question. However, Baylor only wanted to tackle when we put him in soccer(so we moved on to other sports)... Preslee liked dance. She was asked many times about signing up for soccer and the answer was always the same....Until one day.
One weekend up at dad's house the family piles in the car en route to cousin Tosha's soccer game. When they arrived they learned the game may forfeit due to not enough players. So there she was...they put Preslee in--no sign ups, no official uniform, just a hidden love to be revealed. She scored goals with no practice, no strategy, no knowledge of the game...the rest is history. She loves learning and practicing and kicking the ball around in her free time. In fact, my girlie girl wants a sparkly soccer ball from Justice for Christmas. I could squeeze her. I love to see her enjoy something so much. It may be cliche but its completely amazing seeing a piece of yourself becoming their own being.

Maggie and Clyde

The Studmuffin below is my dog, Clyde. The best dog ever lives in Idaho out on the land-if you try to house him he will eat your wood furniture and remove stuffing from pillows and upholstered items (free spirit). He is the size of a polar bear with a teddy bear demeanor. He still nibbles on and cuddles his toys. My favorite thing about him is that he still tries to sit on your lap. He is oblivious to his size.

Now, Maggie(above) is generally good natured although a different woman comes out with the camera. She gets very PO'd when you try to take her picture. This was a good one of her. I love these dogs!

Before Honor there is Humility

DEAR BAYLOR AND PRESLEE,

I promise you I will love you and allow you to make decisions and grow even throughout your adult life. All mothers worry. Worry doesn't equate to love, denying wings, and infringing... I want someone YOU CARE FOR to feel nothing short of care, nonlabeling, unconditional love, and compassion. You need to grow and take responsibility for your part as it always takes two to tango. Communication is king. Always has, always will.

We are students for life, but I'm so glad I understand and have experience in what a relationship takes and what reality is. I will never be the following...I as your mother going through life have learned from others who make this dangerous mistake.

Hovering Helicopter Mom syndrome:
Resist the temptation to step in and take over trying to be involved in every detail. Have your son/daughter go ahead and tackle some of the issues that are outside his comfort zone. You’re not going to be able to be immersed in every detail of the ADULT child’s life...there comes a time a mother takes her place..in love..not a castostophicizing view on life.

I love you Bay and Pres so dearly.

Your Mother
